[Tradition] The Ghost Month in Taiwan.

When you walking on the street in about August in Taiwan, don't ask" how much is that? "



BECAUSE THAT IS FOR THE GHOST

In the Chinese Ghost month, there are a lot of shop put some Offerings in front of their door for peace in Kaohsiung ,Taiwan.

[Tradition] Characters in Chinese ghost month--ghost police

Left: 七qī 爺yé     Right:  八bā 爺yé 



The white one called  謝xiè 必bì 安ān (七qī 爺yé ), who is tall and skinny .
The black one called  范fàn 無wú 救jiù (八bā 爺yé ),who is short and fat.

This two guys called  黑hēi 白bái 無wú 常cháng (Black and white impermanence)  or 七qī 爺yé 八bā 爺yé  (Seven and Eight Lord ), they are always put in the Cheng-Huang temple.  They are two of traditional Gods in Chinese culture, their job is like police to arrest ghost ,they also have right like procurator in the ghost world.



There is a story about them in Chinese myths:

They were police who escorted prisoner, but they lost them. They decided to separate and search them, so they make a meet point under a bridge.

On the meet time, 謝xiè 必bì 安ān  could’t make there because of big rain.  范fàn 無wú 救jiù was waiting under the bridge ,even the river became strong. He would’t leave because the promise, so he were drowned in water.When  謝xiè 必bì 安ān  arrived there and find out his friend die in water, he was too sorrow to hang himself.


(You can watch the white one , his tongue is long because he hang himself.)

The God of heaven saw it and touched, so he gave them a position in the God’s world.

There are two musics of our garbage truck, one is Maiden's Prayer ,another is Beethoven's Für Elise.When you travel in Taiwan, and hear some music on the street,  stop searching theexhibition, but it is time to drop your garbage outside.

[ Architecture] The traditional and local temple

The traditional and local temple in Kaohsiung Taiwan. The temple is the house for the god of lands, called fú dé zhèng shén 福德正神。

[ Picture] Old and traditional folk

The huge boat was made of papers. People will burn it for ghost in July Lunar Calendar because Taiwanese believe the ghosts could enter our world. Taiwanese burn it for a gift to the ghost.
